Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Model Customs Collectorate Lahore seized smuggled goods worth Rs 28.13 million during last month. According to ASO spokesmen, under the supervision of Assistant Collector Tauqeer Ahmed Dar and Superintendent Abdul Hameed Bhatti, seized 19 smuggled vehicles including Land Cruiser jeeps, Prado Jeeps, Mark X Cars, Honda Civic cars, Suzuki Jimmny jeeps and a bus with some goods. The total cost of all these vehicles is Rs 14.4 million.
Moreover, smuggled/non duty paid goods including 16933 yards foreign origin art silk cloth of worth Rs 2.935 million, grease 114 Kg worth Rs 130,000, 533 electronic items including two buses loaded with LCD's and other consumer items worth Rs 2.15 million were seized.
Around 28,800 pirated CD's and DVD's worth Rs 2.8 million, 17215 miscellaneous goods worth Rs 5.13 million were also seized. The staff of ASO has increased vigilance on movement of smuggled goods/carriers and smuggled vehicles.
