The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry here on Friday summoned the law officer to inform the court on October 21, as to why limits were put on the scope of inquiry into the matter of substandard insecticide spray against dengue.
On the petition moved by Noshab A Khan advocate, Additional Inspector General Aftab Sultan appeared and informed the court that the notification issued on September 05 last for conducting inquiry into the purchase of allegedly substandard chemical and insecticide for spray, has been suspended and a fresh notification issued on September 19, which limits the scope of inquiry. He said performing under the new notification he had conducted the inquiry. At this court asked the law officer as to why the scope of inquiry has been curtailed and allowed him time till next date of hearing.
