Ayesha Malik granted interim bail

A division bench of the Lahore Hight Court headed by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Friday granted interim bail till October 13th to Ayesha Ahad Malik, daughter of former MPA, Ahad Malik, in a petition challenging her arrest and ten days physical remand in an abduction case. The bench ordered to submit two surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each to get the bail.
Earlier, the petitioner's counsel arguing the case submitted that the petitioner was granted interim pre-arrest bail by additional sessions judge on September 28, but the police due to malafide intensions registered another FIR under section 506 of PPC with defence-A Police Station and arrested her. He said that the statement of abductee (Joseph) did not show that any ransom amount was demanded by the petitioner or she was armed with any weapon.
Earlier SHO Defence appeared before the court and presented a report, which the court disapproved as not satisfactory. The court expressed anger over the SHO for not meeting the four corners of law about the case. The court ordered that investigation of the case would be carried out by DIG Major Mubashir Ullah.
The petitioner in her petition submitted that she was being involved in fake cases for personal and political reasons. She contended that the trial court illegally handed over her to police on a ten-days physical remand. She pleaded the court to set aside the physical remand and release her on bail. Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday handed over Ayesha, allegedly involved in kidnapping of a Philippine national to Defence-A Police on physical remand until October 14.
