Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 261,689 tonnes of cargo comprising 209,656 tonnes of import cargo and 52,033 tonnes of export cargo including 4,759 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 209,656 tonnes comprised of 60,729 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,610 tonne of general cargo; 52,559 tonnes of bulk cargo: 14,205 tonnes of DAP; 1,269 tonnes of wheat; 30,358 tonnes of coal; 6,727 tonnes of MAP and 81,758 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,033 tonnes comprised of 49,449 tonnes of containerised cargo; 765 tonnes of general cargo and 2,319 tonnes of cement. Eleven ships namely YM Eternity, Sagamore, APL Sharjah, Vira Bhum, YM Fuzhou, MT Quetta, SCF Pioneer, Cora, Blue Sand, Freedom, and Nizar-M with five container ships, three oil tankers, one coal carrier, one vehicles carrier and one wheat carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eleven vessels viz Glen Canyon Bridge, MOL Sparkle, Vira Bhum, OEL Trust, Asian Grace, Tarpon Clipper, CS Stealth, Purbasari, Amazing, Nadeem and Freedom carrying four container ships, two general cargo ships, two oil tankers, a bulk cargo ship, one coal carrier, a cement carrier, and one vehicles carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Glen Canyon Bridge, MOL Sparkle, OEL Trust and Purbasari carrying three container ships and one oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Monday, while three ships namely STX Symphony, Alamayn and Amazing carrying two DAP carriers and one container ship respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday. Six vessels viz Hyundai Discovery, Violetta, CS Discovery, Al-Ihsaa, Fr8 Venture and Expander carrying four container ships, a jet oil tanker and one steel coil carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz Lara Rickmers, Bravo, President Truman and MT Karachi carrying three container ships and a crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 125,265 tonnes, comprising 96,789 tonnes of import cargo and 28,476 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,237 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 96,789 tonnes includes 48,960 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,001 tonnes of coal; 11,356 tonnes of chemicals and 27,472 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 28,476 tonnes includes 919 tonnes of corn and 27,557 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Wyoming, CV Al=Ihsaa and MT Mal Pensa sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Christopigi Lady is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV Izumo, CV Maersk Wyoming, CV Al=Ihsaa, MV Vina Line Sky, MV Hiba Al Nour-B, MV Alexi-I, MT Mal Pensa, MV Kaya Pioneer, MV Kind Seas and MT Christopigi Lady are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Nine ships namely Al-Soor-II, Serengeti, Mesaieed, Remi, Acena, Kasugta, Bunga Kantan Tiga and Opal-II with three diesel oil tankers, two furnace oil tankers, iron ore carrier, a chemicals ship, one palm oil tanker and a cement carrier respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz MV Acena, MT Bunga Kantan Tiga and MT Kasugta carrying iron ore, palm oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday. As many as five container ships namely CV Al-Mutanabi, CV Maersk Kalamati, CV MSC Anafi, CV CMA CGM Rossinii and CV ACX Marguerite are due to arrive at Port Qasim.
