Vice-chancellor Government College University (GCU) Professor Dr Muhammad Khaliqur-Rehman has said that GCU will try to establish new state of the art laboratories and will start new disciplines with their own resources. He was talking to the delegation of Lahore Education Reporters (LERA) who called on him the other day.
He said that a new campus of the university spread over 370 acres would be built in the Kala Shah Kaku with the support of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Punjab Government. Khailq said that the universities would be the role model for students. It would be a place of independent thinking. The policy of the university is to make good citizens. Pakistani universities are required to enhance their research potential if they wish to play a dynamic role in stabilising the national economy and achieve social equilibrium.
