Indonesian medical experts welcomed

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif welcomed a 20-member medical experts' team from Indonesia in Lahore on Saturday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Members National Assembly Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, Mian Marghoob Ahmad, Secretaries of Health, Higher Education, Schools, government officials and Indonesian Deputy High Commissioner were also present on the occasion.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that we are thankful to the President, government and people of Indonesia for sending a team of medical experts in this hour of trial. He said that Indonesia has been facing dengue virus for the last 40 years and due to effective strategy has been successful to overcoming this virus to a large extent. He said that the arrival of Indonesian experts after Sri Lankan experts is also a good omen and we will take full benefit from the experience and expertise of medical team of brotherly Islamic country. He said that the government is implementing a comprehensive strategy for eradication of dengue in the province and all resources are being utilised for this purpose. He said that the assistance to be provided by the Indonesian experts will help in the battle against dengue. Secretaries Health, Education and DCO Lahore gave detailed briefings regarding steps taken for eradication of dengue virus.
Head of Indonesian team Dr Rita said that Pakistan and Indonesia are brother Islamic countries and helping the Pakistani brethren is an honour for them. She said that their country has been facing dengue virus for the last 40 years and we will inform about our experiences to the Pakistani experts. She said that two tons material consisting of medicines and medical equipment is being reached Pakistan from Indonesia.
