Copper ended sharply higher on Tuesday, snapping back from a 14-month low hit in the previous session, as European efforts to strengthen the region's bail out fund restored greater confidence in global markets. In New York, the key December COMEX contract shot up 15.65 cents, or 4.8 percent, to settle at $3.4395 per lb, near the top of its $3.2980 to $3.4835 session range.
