Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC-1) would decide the fate of matter against the officials of Peoples Medical College Hospital (PMCH) of Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), well-placed sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday. Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment (EACE) puts the matter against officials of Peoples PMCH in ACC-1 for further enquiry/action.
The meeting of ACC-I would be held very soon in which the matter would come under discussion, sources said. On the directives of chairman, team of EACE had conducted an initial inquiry about the matter of fire incidence in store of PMCH.
Report stated that statement of Professor Azam Hussein Yousufzai, Principal of Peoples Medical College (PMC) Benazirbabad was recorded; he stated that he has conducted the inquiry of matter of fire incidence in store of PMCH along with Professor Atta Hussain Chandio and Dr Insaf Magsi. Yousufzai stated that they are of the opinion that fire was incidental not accidental and all responsibilities of maintenance of store are of Medical Superintendent (MS), Additional Medical Superintendent (store officer) and store keeper of PMCH.
Report further stated that from the above, it has transpired that some misconduct has taken place which needs to be probed in detail through open enquiry. The report recommended that matter kindly be placed before ACC-1 for seeking permission to hold an open enquiry against concerned officials of PMCH. Sources inside the EACE told Business Recorder that prior authorities would place the matter in ACC-1 and new officer would be assigned regarding to enquire the issue in detail.
Besides, the ACC-1 has the powers to decide any kind of action against any case which is on the list of ACC-1, sources concluded. Sources claimed that it was hinted out that store was full of Medicines, oxygen cylinders, equipment worth Rs 21,724,653 during the fire incidence.
