LSE index gains over 101 points

Equities on Tuesday staged recoveries amid bullish sentiments on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on account of fresh buying in blue chips, while ready board also helped market regain its day earlier loss. The LSE-25 index was increased by 101.36 points to close at 2985.75 points against 2884.39 points of Monday, while transaction volume was squeezed to 1.943 million shares, as compared to 2.901 million shares traded a day earlier.
The market was opened on a healthy sign and kept on staying in green zone throughout the day following buying interest on the part of investors. The investors made entries in PSO, Pakistan Oil Fields, PPL, OGDC, MCB Bank, National Bank, Fauji Fertiliser, Engro Corporation, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Millat Tractors, Lotte Pakistan PTA, Bank of Punjab, Dewan Salman Fibre, Nishat Chunian and Nishat Mills, which helped market improvement. However, Javed Omer Vohra and Company and Japan Power remained under pressure.
The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 104 active issues, 45 companies posted gains, 2 went down, while 57 companies stayed unchanged at their previous levels. Among gainers, PSO was improved by Rs 9.21, Pakistan Oil Fields gained Rs 7.80, MCB Bank was appreciated by Rs 6.50, while Engro Corporation, Millat Tractors and PPL were up by Rs 6.30, Rs 5.04, Rs 4.75, respectively. On the contrary, Javed Omer Vohra and Company lost 55-paisa, while Japan Power was declined by 04-paisa. Lotte Pakistan PTA with trading of 253,940 shares topped the volume leaders followed by Bank of Punjab with 242,830 shares.
