Director General Health Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry has said that Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has developed software for collecting correct data regarding dengue virus patients. He said that a log in number would be allotted to each hospital on which the concerned hospital will feed the data of all dengue patients. The new system will remove complaints regarding data of dengue patients.
Briefing media regarding dengue situation at King Edward Medical University, here on Wednesday, he said that besides spray and fogging, the breeding places of mosquitoes are also being destroyed. Replying to a question, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry said that a committee headed by Surgeon Medico-legal has started working for the confirmation of deaths due to dengue virus and the record of every death reported on media will also be sought from the concerned hospital for complete verification. Dr Aslam Chaudhry made an appeal to the people to keep their houses and surrounding clean and remove stagnant water and solid waste properly.
He said that 441 confirmed cases of dengue virus have been reported from the province during the last 24 hours out of which 393 belong to Lahore. He said that the number of confirmed patients of dengue virus have reached 8117 in Punjab and 7493 in Lahore. He said that 7844 patients of dengue fever have so far recovered, while 349 are under treatment in various hospitals. He said that free medical facilities are being offered to dengue patients in government hospitals.
