Lakhvi's plea for transferring case to Lahore: LHC issues notice to federal government, ATC for October 17
Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Monday issued notices for October 17 to the Anti-terrorism court, Rawalpindi and the federal government, in a petition filed by the alleged mastermind of Mumbai attacks, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, seeking transfer of his case to Lahore.
Lakhvi is one of the seven accused and is alleged to be the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks. In the petition, Lakhvi alleged that Federal Interior Minister Rahman Malik and the Federal Government were operating against him and could influence the prosecution to illegally make out case against him. He said in order to meet the end of justice, his case may be transferred to Lahore.
