Power utility owes Rs 30 billion to SSGC: gas supply not curtailed

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has said that it has not curtailed the gas supply to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). "Rather than curtailing the gas supply to KESC, the SSGC has increased gas supply to the power utility from 180mmcfd to 190mmcfd on Sunday", SSGC spokesperson said.
According to SSGC, the KESC has to pay Rs 30 billion to it, including 50 percent gas bill of June 2011 and total bill of July 2011. The August 2011 gas bill will be due on September 21, 2011, it added.
