Futures open interest up by 8.6 percent

Total open interest at futures counter increased by 8.6 percent to Rs 1.25 billion during the week ended on June 24, 2011. On the other hand, futures spreads declined by 300bps to 8.14 percent. Trading at the futures counter improved and the average daily volume increased to 6.9 million shares, or 224 percent (includes June-July).
The top 5 scrips at the futures counter constituted 68 percent of the total open interest. POL took Engro''''s place to be on top, followed by LUCK, DGKC, and UBL.
