The National Accountability Bureau, Punjab, has summoned District Police Officer Muzaffargarh Munir Ahmed Zia to appear before the investigation officer, Assistant Director Waheed Ahmed, at NAB complex on June 28 at 10-00 am for recording statement regarding allegations levelled by the plaintiffs and to give such information's relating to the said alleged offence as he may possess.
In a letter No 1(9) HQ/784/T-25/1W-II/307/NAB-P dated June 20, the Director IW-II Sqn Leader (Retd)Muhammad Irshad-ul-Haq addressed to Regional Police Office Dera Ghazi Khan, it was stated that the presence of DPO Muzaffargarh is necessary for the inquiry against Sultan Mehmood, proprietor of Sialkot Suzuki Motors, Sialkot, and others into the offences alleged to have been committed under the provision of National Accountability Ordinance 1999.
During the course of proceedings many affectees of the said scam alleged that DPO Munir Ahmed Zia misused/abused his authority , while posted as SP Sialkot, received monetary benefits from the accused by providing them undue benefits at the cost of affectees.
