Make A Wish Foundation Pakistan granted the wishes of 10 children suffering from life threatening illnesses whose cherished wishes were to meet their cricket hero Shahid Khan Afridi. Shahid Afridi met on Thursday these ailing children at a special wish granting ceremony held at Karachi Gymkhana where Shahid Afridi spent some time and played cricket with the children.
Shahid Afridi was received by Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Secretary General, Make A Wish Foundation Pakistan who in his welcome address called it a momentous occasion of granting the wishes of the ailing children to be with their cricket superstar to play cricket.
According to MAW Co-ordinator, these ailing have been waiting for their wishes to be granted for very long time and we are happy that Shahid has given them the opportunity to meet these ailing children thus, bringing hope, joy and happiness to fight their battle against their diseases. Shahid also awarded medals and all children were very excited.
Shahid Afridi lauded the works of Make A Wish Pakistan and said he felt sorry for these sports loving kids for waiting so long for their wishes to be granted as he was too busy in international cricket matches. The guest of honours were Dr Muhammad All Shah, Provincial Minister for Sports, MAW board members, former Justice Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui, surgeon Faiz, S M Muneer and Saleem Yousuf.-PR
