Zardari severely flays Nawaz

President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday night held 'Nawaz Sharif thinking' responsible for Benazir Bhutto's murder. Addressing a programme in connection with Benazir Bhutto's 58th birth anniversary in Naudero Zardari said that he and his party gave Nawaz Sharif a lot of respect, but PML-N chief still betrayed them. He said that Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the integrity and sovereignty of the country, adding that 'martyrdom is an integral part of our belief and faith'.
He accused Nawaz Sharif of working towards pitting PPP-led coalition government and the armed forces against each other adding that such nefarious designs would never be allowed to succeed. He further said that there would be no GST on 12.5 acres of land.
APP adds: President Asif Ali Zardari has vowed to stoutly defend the democracy and institution building so that democracy could take roots in the country. He was addressing a gathering here on Tuesday in connection with the 58th birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
President Zardari said that "we are moving ahead with the philosophy and vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto." He said that if any "political actors" tried to weaken democracy the PPP would face such elements and frustrate their designs.
President Zardari said that our approach is to strengthen the institutions whether they are of armed forces, judiciary, political institutions or even media. Asif Ali Zardari also urged the "political actors to stop their negative propaganda against institutions." The President said that the country is playing the role of a frontline state in the war against terrorism.
He said that our 35,000 people have sacrificed their lives and 5,000 personnel of security forces have also embraced martyrdom for the sake of the country. This is our own war, he stressed. The President said that we are sacrificing our sons and daughters for the sake of the country. He said that the future of Pakistan is bright and not dismal as portrayed by the "political actors."
President Asif Zardari said that the policy of reconciliation should not be taken as a sign of any weakness. We want to take all the parties along in accordance with the philosophy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said. He said that we are taking along the MQM, ANP, PML-F of Pagaro Group and PML-Q. The President said that the government restored the 1973 Constitution which was given by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa has been given its identity.
