The Karachi Port handled 154,132 tonnes of cargo including 90,850 tonnes of import cargo, 63,282 tonnes of export cargo and 3,127 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 90,850 tonnes comprised of 43,739 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,157 tonnes of general cargo; 40,863 tonnes of bulk cargo: 38,393 tonnes of coal; 2,470 tonnes of sulphur and 2,196 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 63,282 tonnes comprised of 40,617 tonnes of containerised cargo; 275 tonnes of general cargo; 9,390 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,745 tonnes of cement; 6,645 tonnes of wheat and 13,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Fifteen ships namely Emirates Marina, Hansan Century, Salis, Conti Asia, APL Chicago, Yongxing, Calmy Coral, Prestige New York, Honour, Athens Highway, Leader, Sapphire-T, Oriental Chemi, Nirmal Gautam and Serasih-2 carrying five container ships, two general cargo ships, three car carriers, three oil tankers and two coal carriers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Thirteen vessels viz Prestige New York, Athens Highway, APL Shenzhen, YM America, Maritime Setoshio, Conti Asia, Taban-1, Positano, Spar Virgo, Lejin, Sea Wave, Overseas Leyte and Sapphire-T carrying two car carriers, five container ships, general cargo ship, two coal carriers, two oil tankers and sulphur carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely APL Shenzhen, Taban-1, Mercy Wisdom and Sea Wave with two container ships, wheat carrier and sulphur carrier expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Al-Mirqab and Afamia with container ship and cement carrier are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Two vessels viz MOL Komati and UBC Cyprus carrying container ship and cement carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while ten vessels viz Golden Express, Lodestar Genesis, Emek-S, Al-Kuwaitiah, Hyundai Express, CSL Ride, Hadis, APL Pearl, COSCO Fukuyama and ERK carrying two chemicals ships, ethanol carrier, high speed diesel oil tanker, five container ships and DAP respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 84,486 tonnes of cargo includes 71,631 tonnes of import cargo, 12,855 tonnes of export cargo and 1,730 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 71,631 tonnes includes 36,222 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,869 tonnes of edible oil; 8,020 tonnes of iron ore and 20,520 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 12,855 tonnes includes 8,511 tonnes of wheat and 4,344 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely MV Maersk Utah and MV Atena sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MV Iron Monger-5 and Sichem Ruby will sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz MV Maersk Utah, CV MSC Magali, Acacia-N, Al-Azizoo, Orient-III, MV Sam Eagle, Indigo Ocean, MV Nahide-M, MV Atena, MV Iron Monger-5 and Sichem Ruby are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, furnace oil, iron ore and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Al-Soor-II and Fuji Galaxy carrying diesel oil and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz Al-Soor-II and Fuji Galaxy carrying diesel oil and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
