The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withdrawn condition of written test every year for licensed Customs agents. According to details, a delegation of customs agents headed by President Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) Mohammad Younus Soomro met Member Customs (FBR) Mumtaz Haider Rizvi on Monday at Islamabad.
Various issues were discussed during the meeting and KCAA convinced Member (Customs) FBR for withdrawal of unjust condition of written examination by Customs Agents. After detailed briefing and successful dialogue, member customs announced to make necessary changes in the SRO.449 (I)/2011. Mumtaz Haider Rizvi also declared that there is no need for written test every year by a Customs agent, who is already licensed by the Customs Authorities. KCAA president and other office-bearers have appreciated the announcement by the customs and hoped that other issues would also be solved through dialogs and with mutual understanding.-PR
