Inspector General of Police Punjab has taken serious note of non-compliance of his order for holding enquiry against Liaqat Ali Malik, SP (Investigation) Civil Line Division, Lahore for patronising land mafia and fraudsters.
Police sources told APP on Sunday that IG in his order dated May 21 last had clearly directed the Capital City Police Officer, Lahore to "ensure transparent investigation on merit in FIR.1055/10 Civil Line Police Station and involvement of SP be enquired into".
It was alleged with documentary evidences by the complainant that the SP exerted his official influence on his subordinate and directed him not to incorporate the complainant's lawful point of view or statement in the investigation. As a result of defective investigation, the accused facing charges of bouncing of Rs1.45 million cheque was bailed out on the basis of bogus land documents.
