Angry Gazans protest against UN relief agency

Dozens of angry Palestinians in the Gaza Strip demonstrated on Saturday against the United Nations Relief and Work Agency in the Far East (UNRWA), which they said was spending money on summer camps instead of rebuilding houses destroyed by Israel.
Witnesses said dozens of Palestinians closed down several summer camps run by UNRWA in the southern towns of Rafah and Khan Younis, calling on the organisation to rebuild their homes. Since the year 2000, the beginning of the Palestinian Intifada or Uprising, the Israeli army had destroyed dozens of houses in the territory, protesters said. Israel pulled out unilaterally from the coastal salient in September 2005 and evacuated around 21 Jewish settlements.
