'Technical and vocational skills vital for youth to secure good jobs'

"Being merely educated in today's tough economic times is not sufficient. Intense competition within the job market has rendered securing employment opportunities extremely difficult. In such circumstances, it is mandatory that our youth be in possession of some technical and vocational skills to secure better employment opportunities and create entrepreneurial possibilities for them".
This was stated by Shahnaz Rahat Kapadia, Chief Executive Officer, 'Empowerment thru Creative Integration', and Member, Board of Trustees of Hashoo Foundation Pakistan, while speaking as chief guest at the Certificate Distribution Ceremony organised for awarding completion certificates to 500 trainees of the Foundation. She congratulated Pakistani and Afghan trainees and encouraged them to follow the four golden rules: passion for chosen fields, willingness to learn, value time, and give back to the communities.
The event was jointly organised by Hashoo's training arms, Human Development Resource Centre, Rawalpindi, and 'Skill Trainings for Urban Afghan Refugees Project', funded by US State Department's Bureau of Population Refugees and Migration (PRM Project). The trainees receiving certificates came from various skill areas including hotel management, information and communication technology, mobile repairing, beautician, plumbing and civil service, building electrician, auto-electrician, auto-mechanic and tailoring. Appreciation shields and certificates were also distributed among professional trainers of Hashoo Group Hotels, partner hotels including Margalla Courtyard and Regent Hotel, Rawalpindi, for providing voluntary services to them.-PR
