No plans to layoff 4,339 PIA employees: MD

PIA has no plans to lay off 4,339 employees as reported in a section of press, rather around 4,000 employees, after completion of their service, will be retiring from the national flag carrier by year 2014, PIA spokesman said, here on Tuesday.
He said that the news erroneously quotes Managing Director PIA that employees will be laid off, which is false. MD PIA, during the Public Accounts Committee meeting, has said that with the passage of time and by the year 2014, nearly 4,000 employees will be retiring from PIA service.-PR
