Provincial Minister for Labour, Punjab, Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi, said that focus of the present government is towards the less developed areas and huge funds have been reserved for the uplift of socio-economic status of the masses and the Punjab Government has allocated Rs 70 billion in the next fiscal year for annual development programme (ADP) for the southern Punjab districts.
He said that the government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab has increased the budget up to Rs 45 billion during just 3 years for the welfare of the people of south Punjab. While talking to the MPAs from southern Punjab districts here on Tuesday, he said that the leadership of PML-N is fully committed to providing more resources for development of comparatively less developed areas of south Punjab.
The population of south Punjab is 31%; however, the Punjab government has allocated 32% funds of total annual development programme that is Rs 70 billion. He told the MPAs that Kidney Hospitals in Multan and Bahawalpur would be established besides construction of modern 410-bedded hospitals in Bahawalpur.
He said that a 100-bedded state-of-the-art General Hospital would also be constructed in Multan during next fiscal year besides establishment of Burn Units at Multan and Rahim Yar Khan as well as the extension of emergency ward in Multan Institute of Cardiology and, therefore, required funds are to be allocated in the next fiscal year's budget.
