Karachi targeted killings MQM stages walk out from National Assembly session

The lawmakers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Tuesday strongly condemned the renewed spate of violence in Karachi and staged a walk out from National Assembly in protest. Speaking on a point of order, MQM deputy parliamentary leader, Haider Abbas Rizvi expressed serious concern over the fresh wave of violence in Karachi, saying that the city had been once again left at the mercy of terrorists.
He said that target killing and terror activates in the city are continued once again in Karachi for the last 24 hours. He said that the innocent people are being killed in target killing in Karachi. Rizvi said that Karachi is an economic hub and centre of gravity for over all national growth of the country. He said that the efforts are being made to destabilise the city.
After it, the MQM members staged a walk out from the proceeding of the National Assembly in protest against never ending violence in Karachi. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah tried to persuade the enraged MQM members but all in vain. Later, responding to points raised by MQM members regarding Karachi incident, the Prime Minister Gilani said that he had discussed the issue with the governor and the Chief Minister Sindh as well as interior minister. "I have asked them to look into the matter and submit a report immediately and the findings of the incident will be shared with the House", he added.
