HAFIZABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has stressed the need for cooperation among volunteers, citizens and chairmen of union councils and councillors of municipal committees for making 'Saaf Dehaat (Clean Village) Programme' and the Local Government Package a success.
While visiting different union councils along with Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed and other officers of the district, she said that the provincial government allocated Rs 162 million for these two programmes.
The development plan includes pavement of streets, provision of better sanitary conditions, potable water, erection of dumping sites and measures for ensuring better environment in the district.
She called upon all stakeholders to work as a team for getting better results. She said that all 46 union councils would be provided Rs 2.5 million each, while every councilor would be provided Rs 5 lakh each for implementation of the projects under these programmes.
She appreciated the DC and district administration for taking keen interest in making the programme a success.
