KARACHI: The Director General National Accountability Bureau NAB Muhammad Altaf Bawany has said that youth can play an important role in eradication of menace of corruption from society.

He expressed these views as a Chief Guest at a seminar on Tuesday organized in collaboration with Dawood University of Engineering and Technology on "Role of Youth: Fight Against Corruption", said a NAB statement.

Addressing the ceremony, DG NAB underlined the role of youth in eradication of corruption from society. He pointed out that NAB is working on character building and in this regard holding various programmes in schools, collages, and universities highlighting the importance of prevention of corruption.

He also dilated upon irregularities and malpractices prevalent in various universities for which NAB recently issued an advisory and a document containing advices on how to streamlining matters of appointments and financial issues in accordance with rules and regulations.

The DG NAB also said that teachers may also play their active role to purge this menace from the society, nepotism and culture of bribery by training the youth, beside imparting education and character building.

The DG reiterated NAB's commitment to eradication of corruption from the society with zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
