At least five persons were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis on Thursday. According to details, a waiter was gunned down at Scout Colony in the jurisdiction of Mobina town police station. Police said the incident cropped up when a waiter namely Abdul Samad demanded payment from some four persons, who had a lunch at New Kakar Hotel located at Scout Colony Metroville No 3.
When the restaurant owner Abul Habib intervened and tried to resolve the matter, one of the quarrelling persons, pulled out his weapon and opened fire on Samad. The victim was shifted to Patel Hospital where he succumbed to his bullet wounds during treatment. The culprits managed to flee from the scene. According to Police the culprits belonged to a political party and a case 47/11 had been registered against Akram Khan and his accomplices on the complaint of Abdul Habib.
In another incident, a tailor master was shot dead by his brother-in-law in the limits of Shah Faisal Colony police station. The victim, who was identified as Masood Ahmed Khan son of Mahmood Ahmed Khan, was targeted by his brother-in-law Amir Qureshi when he was standing outside his house. Resultantly Masood sustained bullet wounds and succumbed to his injures at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) while Amir managed to flee from the scene.
Police said the victim, who was the resident of Shah Faisal Colony No 3 Raita Plot, was receiving life threats from his brother-in-law over marriage dispute. A bullet-riddled body was found from Khadim Goth Ahsanabad in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The body of the victim, who was identified as Asghar, 28 son of Rehmat Khan, was found in the bushes located at Khadim Goth Ahsanabad.
Police said the victim, who hailed from district Tang Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, might had been killed on personal enmity. No case was registered till filing of this report. In yet another incident, a labour fell from KDA building at Gulshan Maymar. The victim, who was identified as Mukhtiar, 30 son of Mohammad Sardar, fell from third floor of the building and died on the spot. Police shifted his body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities.
A young man was crushed to death near Inquiry Office in the limits of Nazimabad police station. The victim, who was identified as Mohammad Hafeez, 20 son of Badar, was going on his motorcycle, when he reached near Inquiry Office Nazimabad, a speedy vehicle hit him, killing him on the spot. The victim, who was shifted to ASH, was the resident of Liaquatabad. Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver.
