MULTAN: Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) demanded of the government to impose ban on import of cotton.
Addressing a press conference here Saturday PCGA Chairman Aman Ullah Qureshi stated that textile sector was importing cotton from India via Wagah Border.
He said the import was damaging country's cotton sector and also creating crises for our farmers.
He demanded of the authority to purchase one million bales otherwise farmers will face problems. He also announced withdrawal of strike call and informed the Association's next meeting would be held on December 20, to discuss the issue further.
Former Chairman, PCGA Haji Muhammad Akram, Sheikh Muhammad Saeed, Suhail Mahmood, Shahzad Ali Khan and others were also present.
