Quetta Gladiators in hot water yet again

Balochistan cricket associations are infuriated over the non-inclusion of local players in Quetta Gladiators and have demanded to change the name of the franchise.

Quetta Gladiator represent Balochistan in Pakistan Super League (PSL), however, they haven’t picked any player from the province.

Following the PSL drafts, Quetta Cricket Association Secretary Hammad Mengal said, “If you cannot include local Baloch cricketers in the league, then change the name of Quetta Gladiators.”

Moreover, Pakistan Cricket Board governing board member Murad Ismail declared his support for the stance taken by the cricket associations of Balochistan.

Inclusion of Moin Khan’s son in PSL3 isn’t going down well with fans

Balochistan-based top-order batsman Bismillah Khan was part of the side in the opening two editions but was not retained for the third edition, with the management insisting that they did so since better players than him were available and they are not bound to pick players from the regions they represent.

The Gladiators, who were the runners up in last edition, are already in hot water and have faced much criticism for picking Azam Khan, son of their coach Moin Khan, over other performing players.
