Popular messaging app WhatsApp is all set to launch another interesting feature for its users.

The Facebook-owned messaging platform will soon introduce audio and video group calling. The reference to this update was present in the 2.17.70 beta release of the application, WABetaInfo. There was also a picture shared by the company that showed group chat with video and voice call buttons.

The new feature is most likely to function like Skype group calling where users can add other users amid call. For instance, if the user is on call with one person, they can add a third person by just tapping on the add button and group call will be created. However, it is not yet confirmed the total number of users that could be connected for group call.

WhatsApp announces its new app

Daily Mail reported, WABetaInfo tweeted, “The 2.17.70 iOS update has very hidden references to group calls! Before it was an internal news, now it's all confirmed. There are a lot of hidden references about group voice calls, but there is only one reference about group video calls. But the quoted image should confirm both.”

It was earlier reported that the app is working on group voice calls and could probably release the feature by next year. However, it is still not clear when exactly this feature would be launched, according to NDTV.

WhatsApp and Facebook are continuously adding new features for their users. WABetaInfo has claimed that the app is also testing the ‘unsend’ and ‘delete for everyone’ features. Apart from that, the messaging application also recently announced its live location sharing feature on Android and iOS.

A few days ago ‘WhatsApp Business’ was launched for small to large businesses. Facebook too, launched live screen sharing feature, blood donation feature, food ordering feature and also incorporated PayPal in its Messenger.
