The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Capital City Police claimed to have arrested two alleged terrorists of banned Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in different parts of city on Wednesday. According to police sources, a SIU team headed by SSP Raja Umer Khattab conducted a raid in PIB Colony and apprehended Afzal Khan, a close commander of TTP's Moulvi Fazaullah.
The same party also raided a house in Abidabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal town and arrested alleged terrorist Roshan Iqbal. A Kalashnikov, two hand grenades and a TT pistol was recovered from these criminals, they said. Police said that Afzal Khan was the resident of Buner and wanted to local police in many cases such as blowing up of at least 12 girls schools, setting alight a utility store, attacking Gagra police station and Shaheed Sar checkpoint. While, Roshan Iqbal was involved in murdering five members of foreign NGOs, bomb blast in girls school etc, they added.
