The Livestock and Dairy Development Board (LDDB) will distribute special fodder cutter to progressive farmers to help them cut more fodder in the least available time.
"We will distribute 20 such fodder cutters to progressive farmers and members of the Milk Producers Groups on Saturday in a ceremony but plan to increase this number to 100 next month," Deputy Project Co-ordinator Dr Naveed Niazi told Business Recorder on Friday. He said this fodder cutter was run by a motor and could easily cut fodder from one acre in one hour.
"It is run by one man so the problem of farmers to get labour for this difficult work will be solved," he said. "They are distributing these fodder cutters as a support to the progressive farmers registered with the board but we will convince the MPGs to urge their members to use this fodder cutter and buy it at their own." Chief Executive Dr Muhammad Afzal will distribute the cutter to selected farmers in a ceremony. The cutter can cut all types of fodders.
