Makhdoom Javed Hashmi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has topped the list of candidates who have won more than one seat in the elections, it is learnt reliably. According to the list compiled by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Hashmi has won three National Assembly seats from NA-55 (Rawalpindi), NA-149 (Multan) and NA-123 (Lahore).
The list shows that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan of the same party won two seats from NA-52 (Rawalpindi) and NA-53 (Rawalpindi). The honour of being elected from two constituencies of a provincial assembly went to Anwar Saifullah Khan of the PML-Q, who won the election from two constituencies of the NWFP Assembly, ie PF-74 and PF-75.
Rana Tanvir Hussain has been elected to the National Assembly from NA-131 and NA-132. Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi won a National Assembly seat from NA-58 (Attock) and a Punjab Assembly seat from PP-118. Malik Muhammad Ibrar Khan of the PML-N also won from NA-54 (Rawalpindi) and PP-10 (Rawalpindi).
Others who have been elected from more than one constituency included Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim (NA-218 and PS-44), Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao (NA-8 and PF-20), Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan (NA-17 and PF-45), Jam Mir Muhammad Yousuf (NA-270 and PB-44), Makhdoom Shah Mehmud Qureshi (NA-148 and PP-219), Chaudhry Liaquat Abbas Bhatti (NA-103 and PP-107), Pir Syed Fazal Ali Shah Jeelani (NA-217 and PS-33), Abdul Akbar Khan (NA-11 and PF-29) and Najmuddin Khan (NA-33 and PF-91).
Meanwhile, the ECP rejected the complaints of the candidates who lost the election from NA-73, NA-129, NA-157, NA-158, NA-249, PP-58, PP-113, PP-210, PP-237, PP-290, PF-87 and PF-95. The applicants belonged to Karachi, Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, Gujrat, Shangla, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari, Faisalabad, and Dir Lower.
