Get to know football legends coming to Pakistan

imageThe closure of international sports doors in Pakistan is nothing short of a nightmare for the sports loving nation. However, the news of Brazil football legend Ronaldinho coming to Pakistan could prove to be the breath of fresh air and a sign of good things coming for the football fanatics.

The Barcelona great would be joined by six other international footballers and would play an exhibition match. However, we know about only two others i.e. ex-England goalkeeper David James and former Dutch international George Boateng.

While, there has been a great secrecy revolving around the other international players, lets check out some fun facts about the trio.

David James

imageEnglish former footballer David James played as a goalkeeper, James is fourth on the list of all-time Premier League appearances, having played in 572 top-level matches and has played for clubs i.e. Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham United. He was capped by England 53 times between 1997 and 2010.

James, at the age of 39, became the oldest goalkeeper to appear in an FA Cup Final.

George Boateng

imageThe former Dutch footballer of Ghanian descent was an impressive defensive mid fielder in his hay days. Boateng has played for various top clubs including Dutch giants Feyenoord Rotterdam, Aston Villa and Hull City.

Boateng has also represented the Dutch Oranje in four appearances.

Ronaldinho

imageLast but not the least, Brazilian football star Ronaldinho is regarded as one of the best footballers of his generation. The attacking midfielder cum forward was an integral part of Brazils World Cup winning campaign in 2002.

Renowned for his technique, tricks, and overall game abilities, Ronaldinho won the FIFA World Player of the Year award twice in 2004 and 2005, and the Ballon d'Or in 2005.

At present, the football legend is the ambassador of Barcelona football club.
