Pakistan upcoming tour of West Indies is essential in its pursuit to improve its rankings particularly, in the One Day International (ODI). Pakistan limited over skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is keen to improve the teams fortunes and has stressed on the seniors to perform.
Sarfraz emphasize that the senior bowlers in the ODI squad, including Muhammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Junaid Khan need to step up their game, and take wickets consistently.
"In the T20 format we might have a relatively young bowling side but in ODIs we have three senior bowlers - Amir, Wahab and Junaid Khan. We have spoken to them and reminded them that they are seniors, have played ample cricket, and now have to step up we need to take wickets with new ball and in middle overs", said Sarfraz, quoted ESPNcricinfo.
Sarfraz admitted that Pakistan presently stationed at the eighth slot on the ODI rankings, had not done well recently.
However, the skipper was optimistic that the work at training camp would finally pay off. We have worked very hard in the camp and now I am hopeful that they will make a difference in the West Indies and help Pakistan win.
Pakistan will play four T20Is, three ODIs and three Test matches during its tour of West Indies starting later this month.
