imagePESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervaiz Khattak Thursday expressing satisfaction over upgradation of schools and directed authorities to ensure missing facilities in 28,000 educational institutions till end of his government's tenure.

Presiding over a high level meeting at CM House here, he also directed authorities to award tenders of schools upgradation included in the second phase till July 31.

The meeting among was attended by Provincial Education Minister Muhammad Atif Khan, Chief Strategic Support Unit Sahibzada Saeed concerned Secretaries and officials.

On the occasion, the meeting was briefed regarding recruitment of teachers, compulsory education bill, regulatory authority bill and the ongoing pace of repair and revamping work on schools.

It was told that 15,297 among 28,000 primary schools have been provided missing facilities in the first phase while 202 high and 199 higher secondary schools in 19 districts of the province would be upgraded. Regarding regulations of private educational institutions, it was told that regulatory authority has been passed as an act on which implementation would start in May 2018.

Pervez Khattak expressed satisfaction over the ongoing project of schools upgradation and directed to further expedite the construction and revamping work. He also directed to devise a plan to initiate repair work on furniture in schools.
