KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Wednesday having 48305.83 points with a negative change of 233.23 and volume of 114,133,460 shares.

High and Low were 48767.44 and 48209.89 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 206,112,650shares with 370 total traded companies out of which 131 were up 222 were down and 17 were unchanged.

POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 50,254,600 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING with a total traded volume of 27,906,500 shares.

The three top traded companies were Sui North Gas. with a volume of 8,958,500 and price per share of 132.43 (2.72), Amreli Steels with a volume 2,528,500 of price per share of 91.33 (4.34), Mughal Iron&Ste. with a volume 2,286,500 of price per share of 143.27 (6.82).

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share 2389.00 (113.76), Philip Morris Pak. with price per share of 2259.69 (98.54) and Rafhan Maize share of 7800.00 (89.00).

The top three decliners were Unilever Foods with price per share of 6100.00 (150.00), Exide (PAK) with price per share of 818.10 (18.87) and Packages Ltd. share of 825.12 (14.01).
