ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing committee on Rules of procedure and privileges Tuesday decided that debate will be held in the very first session right after speech of the President.
The committee was met under the chairmanship of Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry while Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Vrik, Rana Umer Nazir Khan, Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari, Kiran Haider, Maiza Hameed, Nawab Muhammad Yousaf Talpur, Shugufta Jumali, Ghulam Sarwar Khan and S.A Iqbal Quadri also attended the meeting.
The committee decided that the debate will be held in the very first session right after president's speech and speaker will decide time period of the session. The session would be of 15 or 20 days, that will be decided by speaker of the house.
Committee said if during the session the Federal budget is presented then the debate will be resumed after the budget session.
The committee recommended that parliamentary party will decide the amount of time that will be given to the members during debate session.
Members of the committee suggested that importance should be given to presidential address and debate should be held within 15 days.
