ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday said that extension in the mandate of military courts was need of the hour because it would help eradicate of terrorism from the country.
Talking to a private news channel, the minister said the country was facing unusual circumstances and, therefore, unusual decisions were needed to overcome problems.
Previous governments, he said, had not paid proper attention to eliminate terrorism and that was why the PML-N government had to take steps to fight the menace.
He said the armed forces and people of the country were rendering supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism, which were even being acknowledged by the international community.
Khawaja Asif said holding the final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore showed the resolve of the nation that it would not bow to the whims of terrorists.
