Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Murad Saeed punched Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Latif outside the Parliament lobby on Thursday, after the PML-N leader allegedly called PTI chief Imran Khan a "traitor" during the assembly.
According to local media reports, Murad was angered after PML-N leader criticized the PTI chairman due to his phateechar remarks against the foreign players who participated in the PSL final that was held in Lahore.
The fight broke out when both the lawmakers were exiting the assembly building following the National Assembly session, both came out of the House as they exchanged harsh words.
"Javed Latif abused my leader which is not acceptable, said Murad Saeed. When I protested against it, the PML-N lawmakers told me they had labelled my leader as a traitor," he said.
Latif on the other hand said Murad should be ashamed, and remarked that PTI leaders including its chairman Imran Khan have no ethical training and dont know how to speak.
I am at the age of his father, he (Murad) should be ashamed of himself, said Latif.
Parliamentarians too expressed their disapproval over the scuffle between the lawmakers. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA and Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah condemned the incident.
If one wants to fight they should go outside, but the sanctity of the institution should not be undermined at any cost.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Talal Chaudhary stated that PTI leadership and workers need ethics training.
They have attacked Parliament before as well. They have attacked our leaders. And now for the third time, they have targeted our leaders in premises of the National Assembly, he said.
