KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has said that the women were being provided with full representation in every sphere of life for the country's progress and development.
He was speaking at an award distribution ceremony held at the Governor House here on Wednesday to mark the International Women's Day.
The event was held under the auspices of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI).
Governor was of the view that observance of the Women's Day at the international level was aimed at highlighting the rights of the females and raise issues like poverty alleviation and provision of employment opportunities.
He declared that the protection and ensuring the due rights of the women is the priority of every government.
Zubair also emphasised the need for ensuring the due rights of the women so as to ensure that they become responsible member of the society as well.
He was of the view that women can play an important towards overcoming the lack of tolerance in the society.
The ceremony was also attended by the Karachi chief of WCCI, Farida Qureshi, acting president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and industry (FPCCI), Aamir Atta Bajwa, senior vice president of WCCI, Ghazala Saifi and general secretary, Shakila Rizvi.
It was informed on the occasion that the WCCI was formed in the year 2015 to ensure due representation of the women and to provide them with a platform to participate in trade activities at home and abroad.
