Debrief session of Exercise AMAN 07 was held on Tuesday at Pakistan Navy tactical school PN dockyard, Karachi which was attended by the officers of the participating navies, who critically analysed different aspects of the exercise, says a press release. Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice Admiral Asaf Humayun was the chief guest on the occasion.
While commenting on the conduct of exercise, Chief of the Naval Staff remarked that it had been conducted very successfully and all the aims and objectives set forth for the exercise had been fully achieved. He further said AMAN 07 provided an excellent opportunity to rehearse tactical procedures, response tactics, understand each other's standard operating procedures and enhance interoperability among the participating navies.
Multinational naval exercise "AMAN 07" was conducted from March 6 to 13. Navies of 29 countries participated with their surface platforms, air units, observers and Special Forces. The exercise was divided into harbour and sea phases. The harbour phase comprised pre-sail conferences, co-ordination meetings, safety briefs and table top discussions.
While during the sea phase warships, mine hunters, auxiliary ships, helicopters and aircrafts carried out extensive exercises in the North Arabian sea. Besides sea exercises, the AMAN 07 also included social/cultural events, sports fixtures and visits to recreational and historical places.
Specially the international cultural and food gala arranged at PN Dockyard and Pakistani Cultural Show at Pakistan Maritime Museum remained centre of attraction and provided a unique chance to the officers and sailors of participating navies to interact with each other and understand different traditions, culture and beliefs.
