RAWALPINDI: General Zubair Mehmood Hayat took charge of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) on Monday from the outgoing General Rashad Mehmood at a change of command ceremony at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
According to the media reports, General Hayat was presented with a guard of honour at a ceremony attended by all chiefs of staff, including outgoing Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and the incoming Army Chief Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa were also present on the occasion.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah also attended the ceremony.
The newly-appointed CJCSC Lt-Gen Hayat was previously responsible for the safety and security of the countrys nuclear programme.
Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will take over the charge of Pakistan Army tomorrow.
