ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will host farewell dinner for outgoing COAS General Raheel Sharif today at the Prime Minister House.
According to details, PM will hold a one-on-one meeting with General Sharif to discuss the appointment of the new leader of the military.
The army chief is to retire on November 29 after his three-year tenure as the Chief of the Army Staff. General Sharif has held farewell meetings with senior military officials ahead of his retirement.
According to Samaa News, the ministry of defence has sent a summary to the Prime Minister for appointment of new military chief and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC). The outgoing CJCSC, General Rashad Mahmood, who paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday, will retire from his service on the 27th of this month.
General Sharif is making farewell visits to different cantonments and installations that started this Monday.
