imageISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Wednesday that the ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms has established Pakistan Urban Planning & Policy Center in Islamabad for managing urban development in the country.

Replaying to a question in the Senate, Federal Minister Sheikh Aftab Ahmed informed the House that agenda of the newly established body would cover different thematic components of urban development in the country.

The aim of Pakistan Urban Planning & Policy Center is to establish an active and participatory mechanism to synthesize urban planning and development in all provinces and administrative units to achieve goals/objective of smart sustainable urban development in Pakistan, the Minister added.

The body to formulate National Urban agenda for Pakistan in the wake of vision 2025 for transforming our cities in to smart, livable, vibrant and high quality services delivery cities to secure sustainable urbanization, he said.
