PESHAWAR: An 11-member delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government would leave for Beijing on a five-day official visit on November 30, provincial government spokesman Mushtaq Ghani said Wednesday.
He said a news item published in a section of the press that the Chinese embassy had refused to issue visas to the KP government delegation, was totally baseless.
A formal letter was written to the Foreign Office (Islamabad) and all the documents had been approved, Ghani said in a statement here.
He said the delay in processing of visas, due to some technical reasons, did not mean that the same had been refused by the embassy.
Ghani said during the visit, the delegation would inspect mass transit system, particularly between two cities of China, from technical point of view.
The visit, he said, had been sponsored by the Asian Development Bank.
He said the KP government was taking measures to promote and encourage Chinese investment in the province.
Ghani said the mass transit system would be a gift for the people of KP as it would ease traffic flow on roads in the provincial capital.
