ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously rejected the minimum fixation of pension at 50,000 per month, which motion was moved by Parveen Masood Bhatti under the rules 259 that House may discuss the situation arising out of non-fixation of minimum pension of government servant at Rs.50,000 per month.
Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal has said that it is very difficult for the government to provide the equal pension to all retired employees because after the increase in pension the basic pay must be increased which is impossible.
Rana Muhammad Afzal informed the House that with the passage of time Government revised the pay scale and increased the salaries of government employees and it is impossible to provide equal pension to all retired employees.
He said that government has divided the scales with the nature of job, like bomb disposal, nurses in hospital, teachers, doctors or other departments all have different jobs and work and as per the rules government is providing the incentives.
