President Pervez Musharraf has conferred Sitara-e-Imtiaz - the highest civilian award of Pakistan - upon Rafiuddin Zakir Mahmood, President and CEO of Habib Bank Limited and Syed Ali Raza, Chairman and President of National Bank of Pakistan in recognition of their services towards strengthening the banking sector in the country.
At an investiture ceremony held at the Governor House here, on Thursday, they received their awards from Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan.
Moin Mohammed Fudda, former Managing Director of the Karachi Stock Exchange and leading industrialists Mohammad Hussain Dadabhoy and Bashir Ali Mohammad were among other recipients of Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
