A meeting was held at the office of the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) between the Picic Exchange Company (Pvt) Ltd and Unisame team, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver welcomed Picic Exchange Company CEO Aley Abid and informed the officials of the requirements of SMEs namely availability of cash currency, travellers cheques, drafts and transfer remittances both inwards and outwards to and from global countries at correct prevailing rates and nominal charges.
Aley Abid said the Picic Exchange Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Picic Commercial Bank Ltd, and is authorised by the State Bank of Pakistan to sell and buy foreign exchange and handle remittance business, as all transactions routed through it would be deemed as legal transaction and supported by an official receipt.
He said: "I would also like to offer my services to intending Hajis of the Unisame Group for making available foreign exchange over and above the prescribed quota of the government to intending Hajis. Those going for Haj can buy Saudi riyal from us against the payment of the equivalent amount in rupees. All such transaction will be covered by official receipt."
He urged the Unisame team to convey to SMEs that they should feel free to contact the Picic Exchange Company on any day during office hours.-PR
