Cocoa futures on the New York Board of Trade climbed to a fresh 5-week high Tuesday, boosted by speculative buying amid concerns about a tottering peace plan in top cocoa grower Ivory Coast, market sources said.
NYBOT's benchmark cocoa contract for September delivery rose $16, or 1.1 percent, to settle at $1,498 a tonne, its loftiest close since June 28, when it ended at $1,509. Earlier Tuesday, the contract peaked at $1,500.
